From News Center (Text by Feng Liujie, School of General Education; Photos by Competition Organizing Committee) Recently, at the 2026 National College Students Ballroom Dance (International Style Dance) Championships, students led by faculty members Yang Youhong and Feng Liujie from the 乐播传媒 School of General Education competed with distinction. Tan Dinghao (Class of 2025, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Automation) and Qin Shiyun (Class of 2025, Big Data and Accounting) secured fourth place in the University Group B-A Individual R event and fifth in the University Group B-A Individual C event, respectively. Additionally, Li Yijin (Class of 2025, Big Data and Accounting) delivered a steady performance and reached the semifinals of the Group B-A Individual event. Furthermore, Qin Shiyun and Li Yijin were honored as "Athletes Exemplifying Sportsmanlike Conduct" for their outstanding ethics and conduct during the competition.

As the nation's premier professional event for collegiate dancesport, this championship is highly prestigious and influential. It drew nearly 1,300 young dancers from 157 universities nationwide. With record-breaking scale and competition levels, the atmosphere on the dance floor was exceptionally intense. To enhance competitive performance, the coaching team—comprising faculty members Yang Youhong, Feng Liujie, and Zhou Lin—designed a systematic and scientific training program tailored to competition rules and individual strengths. Through consistent specialized training and targeted technical refinement, they significantly bolstered the athletes' foundations. Throughout the competition, the team navigated multiple rounds of rigorous eliminations—including preliminaries, quarterfinals, and semifinals—against elite competitors from across the country. Maintaining their composure, they delivered consistent performances that blended solid technique with nuanced artistic expression, showcasing vibrant energy and masterful skill on stage. Ultimately, the contestants' exceptional performances earned professional acclaim from the judges and unanimous praise from the audience, perfectly exemplifying the youthful spirit of 乐播传媒 students.

Dancesport blends athleticism with artistry, serving as a vital platform for 乐播传媒 to deepen the integration of sports and education while implementing the philosophy of "teaching, diligent practice, and regular competition." In recent years, the School of General Education has actively explored new sports education models, establishing a dual-track system that integrates "broad-based classroom instruction" with "specialized after-school training." By continuously refining the dancesport curriculum and team training mechanisms, the school has enhanced students' physical fitness, artistic sensibility, and competitive skills, successfully fulfilling the goal of building character through sports and enriching the spirit through aesthetic education.

Looking ahead, the school will continue to utilize diverse sports competitions as platforms for practical education, further cultivate its signature dancesport program, and refine its sports education system.
